Direct Oversight: Meta to Share CSAM Cases with Indian Cybercrime Authorities

Following government pressure and regulatory scrutiny over harmful online content, Meta has agreed to report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and safety cases directly to the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). Previously, Meta routed such instances exclusively to the US-based National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Indian authorities praised the move as an essential first step toward platform accountability and child safety.
